We strongly believe that data is central to the demonstration of the value of healthcare innovation, be that new interventions or services. The appropriate collection, analysis and communication of these data are crucial to translate Real World Data into relevant information for decision makers. Furthermore, development of the right data driven tools are a critical step in translating information into a change in NHS practice. Every one of our projects is bespoke and designed to meet specific objectives although all of our projects follow a well-tested process to maximise success.

Real World Data collection and analysis: Whilst there is a wealth of electronic healthcare data collected in the NHS there are currently well recognised gaps in these data sets to answer specific questions about why something is happening without considerable assumption. Each of our projects is carefully scoped out with consideration given to the necessary data and most appropriate methodology to achieve the desired objectives. Key to our offering is our ability to collect specific data from a variety of sources whether it exists or not and analyse this in a timely manner to ensure we can achieve a project within agreed timelines and budgets.

Data driven solutions: Decision makers at national and local level increasingly require broader and more sophisticated evidence on which to base informed choices. Our innovative data driven solutions offer practical and pragmatic support to the NHS in making a change in practice. All our solutions have local data at the heart and as such they reach out to the NHS in a way which is familiar and robust, allowing tailored solutions based on local data insights.

Recent activities include:

• The development of a Real World Data programme to support the pre-launch and post launch market access activities for high value drug which supported both the approval of the drug for NHS reimbursement and the local negotiations with NHS decision makers.
• Data collection on early clinical experience with a newly launched product in order to develop a data driven value proposition for the new product.
• A national project to look at the impact of different service models on outcomes in a particular disease area which formed the basis of a series of publication opportunities and achieved national press coverage.
• A toolkit for healthcare professionals and commissioners to optimise anticoagulation services for use by a clients specialist field forces to engage with their local customers.

The importance of data in NHS decision making is now widely accepted. Likewise, there is growing acceptance of the need for a smarter more innovative approach to getting optimal uptake of new innovation in the current NHS environment. pH Associates in partnership with OPEN health are continuing to develop a unique combination of market access services with data at the heart to meet the objectives of our clients in a challenging environment.
