Branding and event production specialist ICON provided UniCredit, one of six main sponsors and official bank of the UEFA Champions League, and its guests a unique experience at the recent Final match between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern München, at Wembley Stadium. The well-known international bank hosted approximately 1,000 guests in the stadium's prestigious Bobby Moore Suite which ICON transformed to reflect the company's branding coupled with the excitement of one the biggest international football fixtures of the season.
Working closely with UniCredit's lead agency ajoint communication, Wembley Stadium and UEFA, the ICON team devised, installed and managed the complete experience. Drawing from its now extensive team of experts, ICON integrated staging, lighting, and the latest technology alongside a complex logistics programme to ensure that UniCredit's guests had a truly unique experience and that the brand and its stakeholders were brought together in an original and enjoyable way.
Guests entered the suite via an authentic players’ tunnel and were hit by a wall of sound - similar to that experienced by the actual teams as they walk onto the pitch. This immediately got their adrenalin going and ICON's creativity and careful planning ensured that the excitement on the pitch was matched by the atmosphere throughout the event.
In addition to the players’ tunnel, ICON installed a central stage and a large globe with internal projection, reflecting the international nature of both football and UniCredit's business. With the use of clever room dressing and creative lighting the entire suite was also bathed in red, UniCredit's corporate colour.
