Just-Eat have appointed VCCP to their £4m creative account following a 5-way pitch. The business was previously held by Hooper Galton, which merged with VCCP last December, and the winning pitch was led by Martin Galton and Oliver Lewis-Barclay, Hooper Galton’s founding partners.
Just-Eat is one of the fastest growing e-commerce companies in Europe. Currently operating in 16 countries across the world, Just-Eat increased the number of restaurants taking orders online by 80% and doubled order volumes in the last year alone. Just-Eat is currently generating over $500m in revenue per year for the global restaurant industry and was listed in the TechCrunch Europe Top 100 Index 2010. Just-Eat was also recently ranked number 28 in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100. Hooper Galton helped launch the brand in the UK in 2009 with a campaign featuring two animated characters, ‘Belly & Brain’.
Richard Murfitt, Head of Brand Marketing at Just-Eat, said:
“With continued rapid growth of the business and expansion into new markets, we wanted to make sure we had precisely the right lead comms partner in place. In the end, the combination of the Hooper Galton guys’ passion, creativity, and strategic edge, supported by VCCP’s fantastic integrated resources made the difference. VCCP have developed an incredibly powerful new brand positioning and campaign which will drive brand fame over the coming year.”
Oliver Lewis-Barclay, Business Director at VCCP, said:
“For us, Just-Eat is very much unfinished business. A great brand, getting bigger and better all the time. So we put our all into the pitch, and we’re delighted to have won through.”
